Patch Sequence Page

This page allows you to specify all the information required by the installer in order to determine the sequence in which the patches are applied.
Add a new patch sequence family

Use the toolbar button, the “New Patch Sequence
Family” context menu option or press the
Insert key while “Families and
Targets” panel is focused.
By creating a patch family you specify that the patch is a member of that family. The patch family is used to determine which patches are to be superseded. A patch may belong to multiple patch families if it applies to more than one product or includes multiple fixes.
Add a new patch sequence target

Use the toolbar button, the “New Patch Sequence
Target” context menu option or press the +
key while a family element is selected.
Remove a patch sequence family or target

Use the
toolbar button, the “Delete” context menu option or press the
Delete key while a tree item is
selected.
Rename a patch sequence family or target

Use the “Rename” context menu option or press the F2 key while a tree item is selected.

Target

This section allows to specify the products to which the sequencing information is applied. You can either select an existing target image using the picker, you can enter a ProductCode or leave it empty.
If the Product Code field is empty, the patch is applied as a member of a PatchFamily for all patch targets regardless of the product code.
Sequence

Sequence

Members of the same patch family are sorted and applied to the target product in the order of increasing Sequence values.
Supersede earlier patches

This option applies only to minor upgrade patches and indicates a patch that can supersede earlier patches in this family.
