We have a visual studio project built in the 2015 community addition using c++. It runs as a windows application on the machine it was built on. Trying to make an installer with version 12.6.1 we used new->installer=>visual studio application. Then after giving it the path to the solution file it hang in the "loading visual studio" dialog with an error ".NETFramework, Version=v5.4.2 is not installed on this machine" but it is installed and trying to re-install it, generates the message that it is already installed.
Is advanced installer usable with the visual studio community version? Is there some fix for this?

I'm not sure why this happens. I have tested with AI 12.6.1 the import of a solution file created with VS 2015 Community edition and everything went well.
Can you please attach a screenshot with the error you get? Also, can you try to uninstall the required .Net version (4.5.2) from your machine and then reinstall it again?
If you could send us a test solution file (SLN + all of its referenced projects - without source code files) which replicates this issue to support at advancedinstaller dot com, this will be very useful.
