Hi ,
I just wanted to Bump this.
It has been almost a year and a half and I'm pretty sure that your reason wasn't very valid at the time.
Having it in the advanced installer UI with the note that will only work on vista or above would have been fine.
Then a simple if OS version > vista then try to apply the "missed task" setting if specified, would have got the job done where possible.
Just because it won't work on all windows machines is not an excuse to not use it where it is available.
We are going to be putting out software on new machines, ie all our software will be on win7 machines, therefore we would really like to have this feature.
Ideally we want to check for updates once a week and if missed then do the check, nice clean and simple.
We don't want to have to do it hourly to make sure it does happen, particularly if it is a million machines.
The wasted extra traffic charges downloading the update.txt files can really add up with a large install base.
So please re-evaluate this very useful feature.
Otherwise Advanced Installer is great and has saved us time and money
Cheers
Jeff
