Advanced installer Express

Hello Community,

I actually have a fairly simple project in front of me, but I can't do it.

Base:
- actual Version Advanced installer express
- myapp.exe and myapp.pdf
- Code signing certificate

I want to create a msix package with following installation paths
C:\Program Files (x86)\myapp\
C:\ProgramData\myapp\

all my attemps failed... no folder is created
is it even possible with the free version advanced installer express?

Hello Frank and welcome to our forums,

Not quite sure why you would need an MSIX, but yes, you can create an MSI for that - it seems quite easy.

However, please note that the Express version can not create MSI packages (it is intended only for MSIX).

Now, coming back to your issue - the Windows OS will automatically install MSIX packages in the following location:

%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps

thanks for your answer.

for my really simple project, a msi is enough for me.

I downloaded the normal version of advanced installer (20.6) and already created a msi package.

A simple installer project with project language German is enough for me.
My next problem is, that with simple installer projects, only English (United States) can be selected. do i need a language pack or is that not possible in the freeware version?

why doesn't my Product Name appear here, can I change it instead of 25d2457.msi ?

I solved the problem with the file name in the uac

i forgot to use /d command line argument with signtool
