Advanced Installer PHP Security Vulnerability: Status - Fixed, Customer Data Is Safe

Written by Bogdan Mitrache · October 23rd, 2026 · 1min read

On October 21st, a security patch for PHP was publicly announced.

As soon as the announcement came out, our team began assessing its impact on the PHP-based services behind Advanced Installer.

As a precautionary measure, we temporarily suspended those services at 19:20 GMT to protect our systems and customer data.

We upgraded our servers to one of the officially recommended patched versions and tested it before bringing our services back online, approximately 2 hours later.

Our data was preserved, and our customers were not impacted.

The following services were briefly unavailable during the outage:

  • Forums: temporarily offline while the upgrade was completed and tested.
  • Online registration wizard: may have failed for older versions of Advanced Installer.

Both are now back online.

We monitor security advisories for the technologies we use, including PHP, on an ongoing basis and respond promptly when a vulnerability may impact our infrastructure. Protecting customer data is our priority.

In case you are still experiencing problems with the registration wizard or you have any questions about this update, please e-mail us at support at advancedinstaller dot com and we will be glad to help.
