having the prerequisite dialog display the 'welcome to...&qu

hi all,

i don't see any way to have the 'welcome to (software name).." display before the prerequisite box. i don't like that becausse the user will see that the installer program wants to install software (prerequisite) without the user having at least seen the dialog box to confirm they are installing the software they expected.

i looked in the dialog box screen. i see how to re-arrange those standard dialog boxes., but not the prerequisite box

ideas?

Hi rileydog

As far as I know, their bootstrapper is responsible for the "Prerequisites"-dialog, and is as such not part of the MSI in any way, meaning it is impossible to show it after the WelcomeDlg.

You have two options in my opinion: either change the filename of your installer so that it is clear what you are installing, or don't use the "prerequisite software" functionality and add some custom actions/dialogs.

thanks for the help. If i decide to skip the prerequisite function, do you have any suggestions to give my programmer as to how to check for prerequisites?

what i'd like is a screen to display telling the person they are installing my program, what to expect, and what they can do. Then, if they click OK, i want the program to check for prereq, install, etc.

ideas?
