Updater not working correctly.

On some systems updater will detect and download an update even when the latest version is installed. Seems to be windows 10 but i've not got enough systems to test it on to be sure.

Re: Updater not working correctly.

Hello,

The Updater downloads updates based on the Update Installed Detection. Please make sure your latest version makes the comparison condition resolve to true after it is installed.

All the best,
Mihai

Re: Updater not working correctly.

I do have it enabled, and it works fine on some machines, i've just uninstalled and re-installed the application, as soon as installation is complete I ran the updater. It should tell me there is nothing but instead it tells me there is an update and it then starts to process but doesn't complete.

Re: Updater not working correctly.

Hello,

Can you please send us to support at advancedinstaller dot com the following projects:

1. AIP (project file) of your old product version (the one which installed the Updater you launch to install updates)
2. AIP (project file) of your new product version (of the updates setup)
3. AIP (project file) of the updates configuration project

All the best,
Daniel

Re: Updater not working correctly.

Hello,

I think you encounter the related behavior on 64-bit machines. Most likely this happens because you configured your updates detection criteria (registry value search -> "Version" registry) to search for the "Version" registry in the 64-bit registry location (this option applies only on 64-bit OSes). But the "Version" registry value will be installed by your updates setup under the 32-bit registry zone (Wow6432Node) on 64-bit machines.

So, can you please open your updates configuration project, go to "Updates" page -> "Update Installed Detection" tab and uncheck the "Use 64-bit registry locations" option? Then rebuild your updates config file and re-upload it on your web server.

Let us know if this helped.

All the best,
Daniel
