Supressing SQL Errors when Running Scripts

Right now, I have the installer configured to skip to the next line after a SQL error, but it also shows a message box that the user has to acknowledge. Is there a way to suppress this and have the errors written out to a file instead? In general, is there a way to have the SQL output sent to a file. Right now, I am running sqlcmd.exe to install my scripts and I can specify an output file.

In order to avoid this you can disable the Connection and all its scripts are verbose option from the Connection properties (e.g. SQL Connection properties).

Is there a way to suppress this and have the errors written out to a file instead? In general, is there a way to have the SQL output sent to a file .

We already have this on our TODO list and this feature will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer. Thank you for your suggestion.

The possibility to write error in a log file has been added in version 11.0 of Advanced Installer released on March 13th, 2014.

If you enable the Log errors to file option from the Predefined SQL Connection properties, all errors encountered will be written in a log file in the %temp% folder named AI_SQLScripts.log.
