File Operation : COPY

Hi,

"Instal Parameters" Page : Added a 'New Property' = SERVER_HOME
"Files & Folders" Page :
1. Added a 'Property Based Folder'
2. Added two war files in this folder
3. Added a folder in the 'Application Folder' = Server
4. Set a 'File Operation' to copy the two war files from the "SERVER_HOME" 'Property Based Folder' to the "Server" folder under 'Application Folder'; as seen below:

Is it cuz i'v set the Component to Trial.dll ?? ELSE, what shud i set it to ?
CUZ, the two files ARE NOT copied to the destination, and are available only at the source

Re: File Operation : COPY

Hello,

Usually a file operation is placed next to its source. In you case this would be the property based folder, not the destination folder.

This is what I found in the tutorials/help :

Beside, ONLY the SOURCE folder can be selected, the DESTINATION folder is defaulted to the folder where you efine the 'File Operation'.

Then i don't understand what you mean by :

Just move the two operations in the property based folder(SMARTE_SERVER_HOME) next to their source .WAR files, make sure their configuration is correct and see if the issue persists.

Re: File Operation : COPY

Hi..
mihai.petcu wrote:Just move the two operations in the property based folder(SMARTE_SERVER_HOME)
The File-Operation is in the webapps folder
And the FILE is in the property based folder(SMARTE_SERVER_HOME)

So this is what i did:

1. I created the File Operation in my Destination folder (webapps)
2. Then dragged & dropped them into the Source folder (SMARTE_SERVER_HOME)
BUT, This didn't work.

Bcuz, on moving the File-Operation to the Source folder,
the source folder in the File-Operation settings has changed to the Destination Folder & CANNOT be changed by us:

Re: File Operation : COPY

Hello,

I'm sorry for misleading you. After later investigation it seems files that are installed with the package cannot be copied/moved because the "MoveFiles" action (action that process the copied/moved operation) is executed before "InstallFiles".
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we'll update the user guide with this information so there're no future confusions.

You can try to duplicate the files in both folders if you need to (use File Duplication operation instead - this operation is available only for files from the project).

Re: File Operation : COPY

Hi Mihai..

Yea.. ok..

Btw.. i got a workaround.

I'm changin the value of the Property-based-folder (right after the InstalUISequence) to the folder I required to initially move the files into... :)
Got it. .?

So instead of having to rely on the File-Operation, my EXE will 'Install" the required files into the required folder. Cuz i'm placing the required files in the 'Property-Based-Folder' in the Files & Folders page.

:): ): ): ):): ): :) P:
