Change the GUID

Hi,

How can I change the GUID of my already existing installer?

This is what the problem I am facing:

I have already developed a AIP using Advanced installer pro. I want to use the same AIP to develop another installer by doing some minor changes.. in it.

But there is a conflict when I run the final build? I see that the GUID of both the AIP files are same.

Is there anyway we can change it?

Hi,

The problem you are encountering is due to the fact that both packages have the same ProductCode and UpgradeCode. In order to fix this error just open one of the AIP files using a text editor and modify these values.

However, the correct way is to recreate one of the projects from scratch as the the components guids are the same too and could appear problems.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I might suggest that the suggestion of starting a new aip from scratch is truly ridiculous. There should be a way in AI to regenerate the unique IDs.
