We distribute a version of our software on CD. I want the main installer to point to a prerequisite installer as a file external to the MSI, rather than including it in a bootstrapper.
file:///[SOURCEDIR]QT7\QuickTimeInstaller.exe doesn't work, probably because it's a mixture of a URL path and Windows path.
What would the correct way to do this be, if it is possible at all?

Hello,
Properties are not available to the bootstrapper. The correct way to do this is add your prerequisite as "File in package" and set the bootstrapper to leave files outside from Media->Bootstrapper->"Leave install files outside" radio.
