Creation of Multiple Shortcuts

Unless I have overlooked an option, it would be nice if one could create multiple shortcuts similar to the method that files are added.

In other words, it would be nice to be able to select multiple "Installed Files" simultanesously from the following action:

Right Click -> New Shortcut To -> Installed File... -> Choose Installation File

The reason this feature would be nice is because installing shortcuts in a folder on the desktop and in the start menu can be tedious (requires a file-by-file redundant action for each shortcut result location).

A possible alternate/suppliment feature would be to allow the user to select files/shortcuts/registry keys and copy them, thus allowing the user to paste duplicate shortcuts in multiple locations.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your suggestion.

We will consider adding this feature on our to do list.

The problem is that the shortcuts will be the same and you would still need to edit them manually if you want to to change their individual settings.

Also, beginning with Advanced Installer 3.3, that is due for release on Monday, you will have the possibility to use a wizard that will allow you to create shortcuts for more that one EXE files at a time.

All the best,
Ciprian

Version 3.3 Sounds like a step in the right direction.
Does "Advanced Installer Professional: - includes 6 months free Maintenance Plan" refer to free version updates such as obtaining Version 3.3 from a previous version? Or are version updates free per liscense indefinately?

As far as

I don't seem to mind individually changing the settings if I am able to create them or copy them from another location all at once. I am using a networked drive, so currently every time I want to add a shortcut I have to wait for AI to sync up (connect) to the drive. This still takes some time even with a Gigabit network.

Hi,

A Maintenance Plan gives you access to free application updates and technical support. So for six month you can download for free the new versions of Advanced Installer.
