User rights and MsiOpenProduct

Hi there guys (long time!)

Do you have any idea why a call to MsiOpenProduct or MsiEnumRelatedProducts would fail on a limited account? We've got a specific client site where these calls fail, and I can only assume that it is because of some policy setting. Ideas?

Hi,

I am not sure what could be the cause of this issue - I could not reproduce it on my test machine. Perhaps there is a problem with the WI installation on that system.

The Windows Installer machine and user policies are stored under the following registry keys, but it is unlikely the problem is related to them:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer

Does installing MSI packages work on that system?
