YubiKey FIPS code signing support

Using a SafeNet dongle I can sign my installers from within a Virtual machine (Or even remote desktop), when the Safenet USB key is in inserted in the host machine (or remote desktop client machine)

Does anyone have experience to do the same with a YubiKey FIPS 140-3 key? (Key in Host or RDP client, Advanced installer running on a VM or different computer)

(My code signing certificate on my SafeNetUSB dongle is expiring, hence I am looking for alternatives)
