Updater does not work on a client machine

Hi,

I have a strange problem where my updater works on my local machine, also on a few client machines, but doesn't work on one particular client machine.
The error I get is:
Checking for Updates - Invalid or missing updates configuration file. The first line of the .INI file should be
*;aiu;". It is possible that the content on the server does not match the updates configuration file URL.

The weird thing is that I'm sure my updater and configuration is fine because I have done thousand of updates and I'm always following the same procedure. The same exact update works fine when I start it on my local machine.

Would you know what might be the issue?

Hi Goran,

This may happen if the Updater cannot access the updates configuration file hosted on your web server. The URL of the updates config file can be checked in "Updater" page of your setup project.

Just try to manually access this link on your customer machine (e.g. from the web browser) and check if its downloaded content is accurate.

Also, when the Updater is launched and the related error is thrown you can navigate on end user machine in the updates download folder (its path is highlighted in the above screenshot) and see if the updates config file is successfully downloaded.
