When I was using msimsp to create the msp file, after comparing all the files, and then preparing to build the patch, this error would occur：

I don't know which direction I should start investigating from.

I'm afraid I can't say for sure why that is happening.

Are you using Advanced Installer to build the patch file?

Note that creating patches is a bit more strict compared to creating a major upgrade. A set of rules must be respected so that everything works as expected.
