Advanced Installer Visual Studio Project Error When Loading

Hey guys,

Whenever I attempt to load, or create, an Advanced Installer Visual Studio project, I get the following error:

Unable to cast COM object of type 'Advinst.Interop.AdvinstProjectClass' to interface type 'Advinst.Interop.IAdvinstProject'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{EA392A4A-87D8-4F35-A10F-028912A71D73}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).

I'm using Advanced Installer version 21.3.1 and the Advanced Installer for Visual Studio 2022 extension version 22.8.

Can confirm this. When I open an .aip file in VisualStudio 2022 it crashes shortly after.

After that I reinstalled the older version. With both versions in paralell I can open the project but get repeated error messages and cannot save the changes.

Then I removed the newest version and I can open projects again.

I hope this information may be of use to you.

I have tested this behavior, but I'm afraid I am not able to reproduce it.

If possible, could you provide a sample SLN file that reproduces this?

Also, please have a look over @dkuerten's suggestion, as that might also help.
