File Creation failed

Hi,

We just bought Advanced installer (Entreprise).

We have problems to put 4 files on our Application Folder on a Upgrade installation.

The files are :

- NRClient.dll
- NRConfig.exe
- NRMon.exe
- nrSvr.exe

(All 4 files are to use a USB protection made by Feitan)

On the first Installation the 4 files are there if i install a new version the 4 files are deleted but no more created.

All the other files are OK. I have try to rename all this files but same error. The only difference between the other files is that the 4 files have a digital sign from the editor (Feitan Technologies)


Have you some ideas to solve this issue?

I have remove the Digital sign on each file (with FileUnsigner.exe) and i have still no files when a install a new version.

My trend Seciruty Agent have a Exeption for the "Application folder".

I really don't find what is the source of this problem.

I have check the "Always overwrite existing file" option on the 4 file and my problem is solved.

Before the "overwrite only if the existing file is older" was checked.

I have no explication why "always overwrite..." work better.

Hello and welcome to our forums,

This may happen if the files from the new product version have lower file versions than the one from the old product version. Please take a look on the "DLL file disappears during an upgrade" thread which debates a similar issue.

The versions of the files have not change at all on the new version.

So this is not the problem.

Hello,

Can you please send us the AIPs (project files) and a verbose log of the installation (which replicates the issue) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate them?

Also, it would be very useful if you could isolate the behavior in a buildable sample (AIPs + their referenced files) and send them us to test and investigate on our side.
