Re: Update Targets

Mihai,

Unfortunately I am not really in a position to send all the files, however instead I made a small test application with a similar set of versions and an associated updater project, with the intention of sending that set of projects to you. BUT that set worked fine with no problems implying ...

Update Targets

Hello,

I suspect I am not understanding this feature correctly but could do with some advice on why the following is not working the way I expected.

I have a product at version 5.4.0 but only want it to be available for users with a version of 5.2.1 or higher. I already had an updates project that ...

Re: Auto Updater and Norton Internet Security

As my colleague said, we tested the updater with the last version of Norton Internet Security and everything works fine./

That is interesting and quite positive, unfortunately I missed it in the previous messages.

As to providing a download for Norton - well things have moved on a bit since then ...

Re: Auto Updater and Norton Internet Security

Gabriel,

The version of Norton Internet Security is 17.7.0.12. I just tried running an update on Norton (liveUpdate) but sadly that didn't help. It also occured to me that changing the name of Updater.EXE, by entering a new name on the configuration page, might have been a problem as you may ...

Re: Auto Updater and Norton Internet Security

Thank you for the reply and I will contact Norton. I understand that there is not much that can be done to prevent Norton from deciding to block the updater but is there a way that the updater could be made more robust? For example it appears that it opens the dialogue that lists the available ...

Auto Updater and Norton Internet Security

NIS Version: 17.7.0.12

Hello,

I have a product that is configured to run the auto-updater application (renamed to PTMProUpdater.exe) to check for updates. During testing I found that the update would freeze on the 'checking for updates' message and never pop-up the dialogue stating a new version ...

WindowsInstaller 4.5

I have a project that requires at least WindowsInstaller 4.5 however it appears there are lots of variants of 4.5 depending on the target OS. So I was wondering if there is an easy way to handle this or do I need lots of seperate prerequisites for dfferent versions (such as XP 32 Bit, XP 64 Bit ...

Re: Using [SETUPEXEDIR]

Maybe reading too much into the help files however under Windows Installer Properties is the following statement about SETUPEXEDIR, "Location of the EXE bootstrapper (it is resolved when you launch the installation through the EXE bootstrapper)." This possibly implies that it is not resolved until ...

Re: Using [SETUPEXEDIR]

Bogdan,

Thanks for the reply. What you said is what I would have expected however it does not appear to be happening as when the prerequisite exe file is run it states cannot find ini file "F:\AssetManager\AssetManager.exeConfigurationFile.ini".

I just tried a run creating a log file and it ...

Using [SETUPEXEDIR]

Hello,

I suspect I 'm missing something quite simple however I have the following problem. I have a prerequisite that takes an ini file that I setup on the Edit Prerequisite dialogue as a command line:

/CONFIGURATIONFILE=[SETUPEXEDIR]ConfigurationFile.ini

However [SETUPEXEDIR] is resolving as the ...

Re: Installer for Windows Mobile / WindowsCE

Sorry for a 'me too' message but we would also find Windows Mobile/CE support useful - so nice to know that it is on the to do list. That said AI is a joy to use and a good investment so still a happy custommer.

Jonathan
