Issue with Transform wizard

I'm trying to produce an MST interactively, which seems to work fine, up until the final dialog that lists all the properties detected having a change (the one with the checkboxes).

The issue I'm having is if I unselect/uncheck a property and finish the wizard... those properties and values are ...

Re: Default folder locations on Windows XP

Sure thing, just need to get a log for you... do you want the ICE validations too or just the core build log?

Re: Default folder locations on Windows XP

Ok, sorry to ressurect an old post, but I'm having a somewhat similar issue I believe with some ActiveX DLL I'm trying to install. I have created a standard folder "Windows\Downloaded Program files" under files and folders. Places all my dll's I need in that folder, and set them to Auto Register ...

Re: Application Crashing

FYI, I came across the same problem, but was able to get a fix. I'm using Microsoft's Live OneCare for antivirus and I suspect it "intercepted" something on my behalf (PC terminology for it screwed up the install), however I see nothing in the event log.

To fix this I followed these steps:

Re: Application Crashing

The version I downloaded I was from your site... the Updater did it automatically this morning. The advinst.exe is signed, and a McAfee is reporting no issues with it.

It also doesn't seem to explain why on a machine that never had AI installed before isn't able to connect with the license key ...

Re: Application Crashing

Ok, tried again on a machine that never had any version of AI installed... it installs fine but when I went to apply my Enterprise key... it seems to be failing to download the key (despite proxy being set correctly in IE and in the wizard).

Could this have something to do with the crash on ...

Re: Application Crashing

Hi,

Can you please give me more details? Does this happen when you are trying to open an existent project with Advanced Installer 7.3 or simply open Advanced Installer.

On what operating system does this error occurs? Is this the only error message that appears or there are more?

If this is ...

Re: Application Crashing

As a followup, its not localized to one machine, I tried installing to a different machine and a VM I have and they get same error.

7.2.1 worked fine yesterday too... very weird.

Re: (Re)Registering a newer DLL

Ok, so if my older installer did it via a Custom Action (basically to run the regsvr32 command), but my new installer actually has the new DLL directly embedded, I should use a Custom Action again to unreg it, but the AI to register the new one?

Just wanted to make sure I'm understand you :)

(Re)Registering a newer DLL

I've got an existing installer that I'm trying to upgrade. Part of that upgrade is the replacement and reregistering a DLL with a newer version. Now the previous installer had successfully registered the older version without a problem, and the newer installer for a brand new installation works fine ...
