Re: MSIX "elevation" capability not being respected - Windows Store app

Thank you very much, this would be appreciated as is affecting multiple customers all over the world now, so definitely an issue.

I am happy to provide a link to my app in the store (and a voucher code) so you can download it for free if you need to test with a store app which has this issue?

Re: MSIX "elevation" capability not being respected - Windows Store app

Apologies for asking yet again, but another two weeks has passed and no response on this and it is causing me to receive bad feedback on my app because users assume it is not working as they don't try to right click and run as admin....

Re: MSIX "elevation" capability not being respected - Windows Store app

No I have only ever used your tool for all my packaging needs so not tried with another tool, and can't really easily try to as app has to be submitted to the store etc

MSIX "elevation" capability not being respected - Windows Store app

Traditional desktop app submitted to store as MSIX.

The app package is created with the Elevation capability as it needs to run as administrator.

Has been working fine for all users until recently.

Now getting reports (and can replicate myself ...

Re: MSIX Non-admin install issues

Did you find a solution to this, as I am having same problem. An MSIX app which has worked fine through Microsoft Store until now. And now it will only open if I right click on start menu icon and choose run as administrator

Re: Virus Detected with AI Exe

seems okay this morning so far.

Did try uploading it again to the website for testing - and definitely just uploaded the one exe from the stubs directory, but it still reports too many files - very strange, so we can't submit it as you keep asking.

Re: Virus Detected with AI Exe

just submitted it again - this time the original file from stub folder, rather than the signed file which was detected - hopefully this time it will be accepted, will report back later

Re: Virus Detected with AI Exe

I just submitted the one file - updater.exe (as can be seen in the screenshot) - I just assumed it is looking inside it and finding other files or similar?

perhaps try submitting it yourself?

was definitely signed with a digital signature and was definitely detected multiple times by defender ...

Re: Advanced Installer Updater no longer working due to recent OV code signing certificate changes – complete nightmare!

So after spending two days going backwards and forwards with this and getting nowhere, as above I noticed that the instructions were missing a key step which meant the updater.exe you were signing with the new certificate was never getting copied over the original one signed with the old certificate ...
