Running MSI prereq as admin

Hello,

With our project we cannot use the "Run as Administrator" option in the Install Parameters section as it causes some issues specific to our application after install. We have a 3rd party MSI that is being used as a feature based pre-req and the MSI is built to run in passive mode.

If we try ...

Re: Error message upon login to system

Dan,

Thank you for pointing me into the right direction on this. I did not find anything in the event viewer, however I did find that there were a couple items in the Windows Task Scheduler. After deleting these items from the task scheduler the errors have stopped when logging into the system ...

Error message upon login to system

Hello,

Recently I've had two systems which started showing an error message whenever a user logs onto the system. This message persists even after uninstalling the application which was built using Advanced Installer 11.3. So far this has happened on just two systems one being Windows 8.1 and the ...

Set secondary file path based on Install Type

Hello,

In my scenario i'm doing a per machine if admin or per user install and I've added the install type dialog. My issue concerns creating a 2nd custom folder path dialog. All the paths set in the install dialogs need to be passed along to a 3rd party installer which is set as a pre-req and runs ...

Access Violation

Hello,

Our project is old and has been upgraded periodically thru the years. We've always been using the dialog theme classic default. We would now like to use the graphite theme. However, every time I switch to any theme other than classic I'm getting an ACCESS_VIOLATION error when trying to save ...

Re: Exit installation gracefully

Thank you Daniel for confirming the "UserExit" dialog behavior.

I've set a search criteria, registry key does not exist. This search result is being used for my custom launch condition. If the key is found in the registry the user is prompted to uninstall another version of the software first ...

Exit installation gracefully

Hello,

I've setup a search for a registry key, and ultimately if the key is present I want the user to be able to exit the installation gracefully.

I've been able to create a new dialog after the welcome dialog, and set it to show only if my registry search is found. This works. My issue from here ...

Hello,

Remove 3rd party shortcut file after install

Hello,

I'm using Advanced Installer Enterprise 11.3 and our installer is being used to pass user input from the AI install dialogs to a 3rd party installer which runs silently. We also lay down some files of our own at the end of the installation.

One of the files the 3rd party application puts on ...
