Microsoft Update

Greetings!

Happy user of Advanced Installer. :)

Installing MS Access 2010 Runtime as part of my package, and I ran into problems with my first attempt to port to Windows8.
Long story short, Win8 ships with an older version of VBE7.dll that I had on the Win7 laptop that's fully patched.

Hey Dan,

Attached are screenshots of the Product Details and edit metadata screen. (I couldn't capture the UAC dialog box with a print screen.)

Originally, I didn't touch the edit metadata screen, only doing so after the UAC dialog referenced [ProgramName].

Perhaps the UAC dialog is generated ...

Run as administrator

Greetings!

Under Install Parameters, I've checked "Run as administrator."

When I install the resulting exe, I get a UAC dialog box:

User Account Control
Program Name: [ProductName]
Verified Publisher: Stephen Rogers

Do you know where "ProductName" is pulling from?

Hey Dan,

Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm.

Advanced Installer is a great program. The more I work with it, the more I find I can do.

Just in case others are looking to distribute the Access Runtime, after a lot of testing I used a different prereq test:

Advice on Access Runtime

Greetings!

I'm deploying an MS Access database, which requires the MS Access Runtime only if the user doesn't have MS Access 2010 installed on the machine.

What I'm currently doing is including a link in the Readme to download the Runtime if the user doesn't have Access.
