how to avoid "Unknown Publisher" when the install

When I install my product it always gives me a security warning saying that the publisher could not be verified (unknown publisher). Is there a way around this so I don't spook the person installing it?

add hot keys option for desktop shortcuts

Internet shortcuts are the only ones right now where you can designate a hot key. Add this option for Desktop shortcuts too please.

how to add a hot key for regular shortcuts?

I see the internet shortcut allows you to enter a hot key for the shortcut, but how do you do it for a regular shortcut, like a desktop shortcut?

ahhhhh that does seem a wee bit easier...

especially with that relative path setting that I never saw before...

I reckon I could do the same thing with patches, except just say NO to update product number?

is my update method, which works, the right one?

Hi,

These are the steps I use to create an upgrad installer for my product. Is there a better way to do it?

1. Copy product files to the new version directory.
2. Open previous AIP file and SAVEAS to the new version directory.
4. Go to Product Details and change the Product Version. Save it. When ...

Problem solved by reinstalling Advanced Installer...

I already had the latest version of the Windows Installer by looking at the properties for msi.dll in the windows\system32 directory, so I just tried re-installing Advanced Installer and that fixed it.

There might be a bug in the new way updates of AI are applied, where AI controls the update ...

What version of Windows Installer do I have already?

How does one check for the version of windows installer already on my machin? I do not see an entry for it under add/remove programs and I don't know what the name of the file is.

cannot open AIP files with the new 3.5.1 version of AI

Whenever I click on an AIP file, it tries to run the Advanced Installer 3.5.1 setup program. I see in the links elsewhere that the fix is to send you all my AIP files so you can fix them and send them back.
THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

I should not be asked to send you my personal AIP files ...

Let me be more precise about these command line parms...

I want to use specific command line parms ONLY ONCE during installation, not afterwards when the user wants to start the program to use it. So won't the LNK solution be invalid then, since I only want to use these specific parms when starting up the program right after installation?

How to launch program with command line arguments

In the installation complete dialog, I want to launch my program with some command line arguments, but it won't let me. Is there a workaround for this?

cannot replace executable file in my project

I am trying to upgrade my program's installation. I changed the code from x.x.x to x.y.y and then was prompted to generate another product code, which I said YES to. I saved it and then proceeded to the application folder under files and folders and attempted to delete my program's executable since ...
